Capital Improvements Plan (CIP)

    • Expedite rebuilding and repair processes for all schools

    • Make conscious clean energy decisions when rebuilding schools (see Environment)

    • Expand security programs and technology (see Student Rights)

    • Increase access and awareness to career pathway programs and Edison High School

    • Add more gender neutral bathrooms in schools

    • Reduce the number of portables in schools

    • Make our schools more handicap accessible

    • Prioritize HVAC system replacements

    • Build or reopen new high schools (ex: Woodward High) to address overcrowding

MCPS Operating Budget

    • Prioritize mental health and ESOL programs (see Mental Health and Equity) 

    • Allocate sufficient funds to student advocacy organizations

    • Update all classrooms to have Promethean Boards

    • Replace outdated and worn out classroom materials (ex. textbooks)

    • Implement a countywide chromebook rental program and reward schools with already existing programs 

    • Fund a recognition professional development program
